BACKUPS / CONTINUITY / TESTING

Rewinit RESTORE

Find out whether you can recover your data.

We are building a programme for regularly checking backups through actual recovery exercises. RESTORE is intended to give organisations a test result, measured recovery time and a procedure to use during an incident.

Delivery preparation

As of 28 October 2026

Scope defined. Next step: delivery.

We have prepared the project identity, first-version scope and acceptance criteria. The next stage is to build and verify the described journey with a partner. Timing will be agreed for the selected deployment.

Prepared
Scope and identity
01 / Next stage
A recovery scenario for one application, an isolated recovery environment and a report template.
02 / Planned stage
Partner pilot

Businesses whose daily operations depend on applications and the data they contain.

Where do we begin?

A successful backup status does not establish whether the application can return to service. The first RESTORE scope will cover one application and a controlled recovery in an isolated environment.

What will the first version include?

Data recovery programme / Rewinit RESTORE

01 / RESTORE

A backup tested in practice

The exercise will cover reading the backup, restoring data and running an agreed application scenario.

02 / RESTORE

Time and completeness

The report will show timing for each step and the data available after recovery.

03 / RESTORE

A repeatable procedure

An instruction set and dependency list will support the next exercise and remediation of discovered obstacles.

Example scenario

An example backup of the TEST application from an agreed date.

Planned outcome

Record the backup source and required dependencies.

An example scenario using prepared data. This presentation illustrates the planned process; it does not operate external systems.

A plan that leads to deployment.

Each stage follows verification of the previous outcome. The pilot scope will be agreed with a partner.

  1. Prepared

    Scope and identity

Project mark, visual direction, audience, first-deployment scope and acceptance criteria.

  2. 01

    Next stage

    First version

A recovery scenario for one application, an isolated recovery environment and a report template.

    Acceptance criterion

The backup is restored, the application passes the agreed scenario and the report includes timing and a list of gaps.

  3. 02

    Planned stage

    Partner pilot

Run a supervised recovery exercise with a partner’s backup and repeat it after resolving discovered problems.

  4. 03

    Planned stage

    Preparation for availability

An agreed repeat schedule, responsibilities and procedure updates when the system changes.

Prepared

First-deployment scope and identity prepared.

We have prepared the project mark and visual identity and defined its audience, first scenario, milestones and acceptance criteria. The delivery plan describes the next outcome to verify.

We are seeking a partner to adapt the scope to a specific process and evaluate the outcome in a pilot.

A useful starting point

  • One application and its dependencies
  • Agreed access to a backup
  • Required recovery time and data scope
